ORLANDO, Fla. (Sept. 4, 2024) -- The Orlando Regional REALTOR® Association’s (ORRA) Military Advisory Council proudly announces its upcoming community service event at the Orlando Fisher House, scheduled for Tuesday, September 10, 2024. This event reflects ORRA’s ongoing commitment to supporting military members and their families within the Orlando community.
The Military Advisory Council, established to assist and advocate for military families—internally and externally—understands the unique challenges military members face, whether they are active, guard, reserve, retirees, or veterans. The Council’s mission is to serve as a leading resource for the Orlando Regional REALTOR® Association and the local military community, focusing on property ownership and other military-related issues through education, outreach, advocacy, and events.
On September 10th, members of the Military Advisory Council will prepare and serve a meal for up to 15 families staying at the Orlando Fisher House. Located at the Orlando VA Medical Center at Lake Nona, the Fisher House is one of over 97 comfort homes across the United States built by the Fisher House Foundation. These homes provide military and veterans’ families a free stay while their loved ones receive medical treatment at nearby military and VA medical centers.
“The Orlando Fisher House is a vital resource for our community, offering a comforting and supportive environment for families during challenging times,” said Clarence Zarnes, Chair of the Military Advisory Council. “We are honored to give back to those who have given so much by supporting the residents of the Fisher House in this small but meaningful way.”
The event will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Orlando Fisher House, located at 13800 Veterans Way, Orlando, FL 32827. This initiative is part of ORRA’s broader commitment to serving the community and fostering strong ties with local military members and their families.
