ORLANDO, Fla. – Jan. 19, 2024 – The Orlando Regional REALTOR® Association (ORRA), the seventh largest real estate trade association in the U.S., today announces its recognition as Best Local Trade Association of the Year – Florida by the 2023 BUILD Real Estate and Property Awards. This is the second year in a row ORRA has earned this recognition.
Presented by BUILD Magazine – a leading trade magazine covering news from the world of construction, engineering, property, architecture, and design – the Real Estate and Property Awards showcase firms and individuals who have shown excellence and tenacity in ensuring their clients find their dream homes and properties.
ORRA works to protect private property rights, keeps an eye on legislation that can impact Orlando property owners, seeks solutions that advance specific public policy issues, and works to meet the needs of Orlando’s REALTOR community. ORRA was recognized in 2023 for its expanded diversity efforts for members and international relations.
ORRA launched its first-ever diversity council in early 2023, connecting multiple societies together under one roof. The diversity council is comprised of Orlando chapters of ORRA-associated affinity groups such as the National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals and the LGBTQ+ Real Estate Alliance. Developing the council has given members networking, educational, and event opportunities, connecting individuals with diverse backgrounds and allowing for organizational changes that drive initiatives forward.
ORRA also recently signed memorandums of understanding (MOU) with Hungary, Brazil, Albania, and India. These agreements reinforce ORRA’s position as a global association of REALTORS, rather than just a local presence. This is the highest number of MOUs ORRA has ever signed in one year. ORRA’s MOU with Brazil gave huge leaps to the Brazilian community as it granted 300,000 licensed real estate professionals access to do business in Orlando.

To determine the results of the awards, the BUILD research team gathered information independently from a variety of publicly accessible sources, which was assessed alongside material supplied by ORRA. The judging panel made its decision based on various criteria such as business performance, longevity, business growth, significant innovations or testimonials from colleagues or stakeholders.
