ORRA made its presence felt at the recent 2023 Florida Realtors Convention. More than 200 ORRA members and staff actively participated on various Florida Realtors committees, contributing to the organization's governance and decision-making processes.
In addition, 68 ORRA representatives are serving on the FR Board of Directors.
Several ORRA members assumed key roles in various committees:
ORRA President Lisa Hill has been elected as Vice President for Florida REALTORS® District 12 for 2024. This is a remarkable achievement, and we are tremendously proud of her.
Lisa also assumed the position of Chair of the Leadership Academy Committee, where she will help nurture the future leaders of the real estate sector.
ORRA also recognizes two of its members who were elected as National Association of REALTORS® director alternates — Dan Lopez and Trisha Roy. Their terms as alternates will last for one year.
In addition, Dan is part of the inaugural class of 20 REALTORS® in Florida who now can call themselves Florida REALTORS® Board Certified Professionals.
- Kathleen Gallagher McIver was appointed as the FR PAC Trustee, reflecting her commitment to advancing the industry's advocacy efforts.
- Yumeris “Mery” Fernandez took the helm as the Chair of the Broker Engagement Committee, contributing her expertise to shape the future of real estate brokerage.
- Alexis Lok was appointed as the Vice Chair of the Community Engagement Committee, demonstrating her dedication to community involvement and outreach.
- Cindy Egeli was named Vice Chair of the Curriculum Subcommittee, a role that highlights her commitment to educational excellence within the industry.
- Jeff Fagan was appointed as the Chair of the Strategic Thinking Committee, tasked with charting a forward-looking course for the organization.
Networking and Hospitality
ORRA members and convention attendees had the opportunity to connect and network at the ORRA-hosted hospitality suite, making valuable connections and strengthening relationships within the industry.
Delegates from Spain — Costa Blanca Alicante—attended ORRA’s reception, proving the international appeal of Orlando. The ORRA suite provided a welcoming and engaging space for members to unwind and connect with their peers.
Supporting RPAC
The convention also saw ORRA's participation in the RPAC Jamboree, emphasizing the association's commitment to advocating for real estate industry interests and supporting candidates who champion these causes.
The 2024 Florida Realtors® Convention & Trade Expo is scheduled for Aug. 20-25, 2024.
