Brokers: Understand the paid leave regulations for your W2 employees

Published Tuesday, April 7, 2020

Do you have W2 employees, such as administrative assistants or transaction coordinators? Confused about the paid leave these employees are entitled to under the Families First Coronavirus Response Act?

The U.S. Department of Labor has issued temporary regulations for small- to medium-sized businesses that have less than 500 employees. These regulations allow for full- and both part-time employees eligible to take paid leave under the current pandemic.

ORRA Vice President of Human Resources Melinda Skinner lent her expertise in this area and broke down the details during a Facebook Live broadcast earlier this week. The online event was part of a new series of daily virtual offerings that ORRA is producing in order to continue supporting our members during this challenging time.
