An ORRA member reports multiple incidences of a man contacting female luxury-home agents in both the Orlando and Fort Lauderdale areas with requests to view listings on behalf of a wealthy client. The man often insists on the use of a Non Disclosure Agreement with unusual terms; offers additional commission if another female agent accompanies the viewing, and sends threatening texts and e-mails in response to rejection. (Per the member's concern for safety, please do not share this warning outside the REALTOR® organization.)

An ORRA member reports being robbed on November 4, when she met with a man who appeared to be in the military at her office to discuss buying a home. However, he ended up stealing cash and credit cards from her purse, racking up about $2,500 on her accounts in the span of a few hours. Read more

An ORRA member reports receiving an inappropriate text message from an unknown individual who self identified as "Tanner." The "from" number displayed as 407.715.7674, which was linked to 411.com comments in August warning of inappropriate texts to REALTORS®.

An ORRA member reports that an electronic lockbox has been stolen off a listing and another listing on the same street.

An ORRA member reports believing an individual to be falsely listing properties on Zillow far below Zestimate. The individual provides a poorly completed As Is contract and communicates anxiety for cash. The individual also provides a phone number, a Palm Beach Gardens address, and gmail address.

An ORRA member reports being solicited for digital advertising in "anti-bullying safety boards that are delivered to students in Orange and Seminole public schools." After researching the company using phone numbers and names provided, the member believes that the company soliciting for advertising is not legitimate.
Warning Date: May 24, 2017
An ORRA member reports that an individual(s) separated the body of an electronic lockbox from the top, then broke open the body to retrieve the key. The listing was entered and appliances stolen.
Recommended Action Steps
*Bring the damaged electronic lockbox to ORRA for exchange (the serial number on the side must be readable for exchange). Call the ORRA Membership Department at 407.513,7282 for more information.
