What do I get for my dues?

It's dues time again. Are you aware of all the resources and services offered by ORRA, Florida REALTORS®, and NAR that your dues help to provide? Here's a reminder of just some of what ORRA furnishes for REALTORS® and the real estate profession with each member's $225 dues payment.

Professional development

  • More than 100 classes a year that fulfill continuing education requirements, lead to professional designations, and provide additional skills or knowledge to increase productivity and income.

  • Educational opportunities for REALTORS® seeking to expand their knowledge in areas such as international real estate, property management, market diversity, short sales, foreclosures, distressed properties, and web-based social networking classes.
  • Skills-based learning and technology classes in partnership with MFRMLS.

A voice in government

  • Representation before local municipalities and governmental agencies, and lobbying for decisions that would benefit REALTORS® in issues such as sign ordinances, taxes, and environmental regulations.

  • Representation via board of director seats in organizations that influence growth-related issues in Central Florida, such as the Orlando Economic Development Commission and myregion.org
  • Local political candidate screening to determine candidates' positions on issues that are important to REALTORS®, voting recommendations, and candidate funding from the REALTOR® Political Action Committee. In addition, your PAC and association are heavily involved in the current "Vote No on 4” effort.
  • Issue forums to keep members informed of local or statewide issues that impact the real estate industry.

Member support

  • Call center and in-person assistance for REALTORS® seeking information about member benefits, dues payments, and other services.
  • Internet café (The O.R.) with free use of computers, business machines, and comfy seating to recharge your own batteries.
  • Store that stocks products used by REALTORS® such as yard signs, select contracts, calculators, etc. Supra key system access and support.
  • Group discounts for services or products such as insurance, copying and printing, and local attractions.
  • Three mechanisms for addressing disagreements over the details of a real estate transaction: ethics complaint filing; mediation; and arbitration.

Networking and special events

  • Social and networking opportunities such as a holiday open house, town hall meetings, and a trade show.
  • A series of educational luncheons that provide presentations about the local real estate market, the association, and industry issues.
  • A series of breakfast meetings designed to meet the special needs of brokers and brokerages.

Leadership and recognition

  • An annual leadership development program.
  • An annual awards program that recognizes REALTORS® who have contributed to the association, to the community, and to the industry.

Community, public, and media relations

  • A charitable foundation, the Florida Real Estate Foundation, which generates funds in support of Art in Architecture, a significant community service project that develops attractive workforce housing.
  • A multi-media public awareness campaign that encourages homeownership and the utilization of a REALTOR® when buying or selling a home.
  • Monthly media releases reviewing local housing market conditions.

Member communications

  • A bimonthly news magazine plus weekly and monthly e-newsletters that keep members up-to-date with happenings within the local real estate market, with local issues, and with ORRA activities and educational classes.
