To involve ORRA members in political activities by overseeing ORRA's RAP (REALTORS® Active in Politics) membership and by using political tracking information as needed in seeking campaign workers, alerting members of issues pertinent to their areas; responsible for raising money for ORRA's RPAC fund; responsible for screening candidates for public office and making recommendations for campaign contributions from the Association's RPAC fund. In addition, the Committee makes recommendations for issues to be supported through funding campaigns to bring the issues more into the public view.

Committee Structure

Composed of REALTOR® and Affiliate members with an interest in governmental affairs and political issues.

A screening subcommittee is appointed during election cycles to interview and recommend candidates for RPAC contributions. The members of this subcommittee are carefully chosen and may or may not include members of the parent committee.

Volunteer leaders and members serve one-year terms. However, to ensure continuity while still providing future opportunities for others to serve, some members and leaders may be reappointed to successive terms at the pleasure of that program year’s president. All Governmental Affairs Committee members must be RPAC contributors.


Meetings are generally held monthly; however, frequency is determined by leadership based on work to be accomplished. Special meetings may be called and may be held via teleconference as needs dictate.
