New Southern Home Open House Featuring Firepit Giveaway

(Orlando, FL – August 5, 2013)  A public open house, featuring a firepit giveaway, will be held at the New Southern Home, 5136 Belleville Ave., in the town of Belle Isle, on Thursday, August 15, 2013, from 5-7 p.m.

The 4,000-square-foot green home was built by NWC Construction in conjunction with this year’s Southeast Builder’s Conference (SEBC) in July.

"Now that the SEBC is over, we wanted to showcase this spectacular green project,” says Brett Maugeri, owner of Encore Stone Products, whose company will be raffling off a $600 recycled granite fire pit.  "Nathan Cross of NWC Construction is gracious enough to let us open the home so everyone can see first-hand what a finished green home looks like.”

The 4-bedroom, 3.5-bath pool home, complete with an elevator, features a universal floor plan with a master bedroom and bath both upstairs and downstairs. NWC has utilized cutting-edge green building products and practices to maximize indoor air quality, water conservation, energy efficiency and sustainability—all with a price tag of under $700,000.  Encore Stone Products manufactured and provided the recycled granite pavers for the custom green home’s pool deck, driveway, front walkway, front patio, back patio, and installed a fire pit.  The home is slated for a full gamut of green certifications.

The Open House is being sponsored by the Florida Green Building Council, the U.S. Green Building Council of Central Florida, NWC Construction, and Encore Stone Products. Two Trails Green Consulting will be providing the beverages, including beer and wine. Everyone attending the open house will receive a complimentary raffle ticket for the firepit.

Encore Stone Products, based in Daytona Beach,
creates 100 percent recycled granite pavers, interior tiles and fire pits by utilizing the granite waste from countertop fabricators. This environmentally friendly business grinds any excess from the processing into aggregate for roadbeds, making the company a zero-waste facility.
