Mandatory ethics training requirements for new and continuing REALTOR® members was established to heighten member awareness of the key tenets of the REALTOR® Code of Ethics; to create an awareness of and appreciation for the role the code can and should play in REALTOR® professional lives; to enhance professionalism and competency; and to encourage REALTORS® to view their code of ethics as a living, viable guide in their daily dealings with clients, customers, and the public.

Per NAR, REALTORS® are required to complete quadrennial ethics training every four years that consists of not less than two hours and forty-five minutes of instructional time. The 3rd cycle quadrennial code of ethics training must be completed before December 31, 2012.
