Study finds link between designations, REALTOR® income

November is Designation Awareness Month! NAR recognizes 17 real estate designations and according to the 2011 NAR Member Profile, 36 percent of NAR members hold at least one recognized designation.
Other findings from the profile include:
--The most common designation is the Graduate REALTOR® Institute (GRI) – 21 percent of NAR members hold this designation. The Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR) and Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) are also common designations.
--Thirty-five percent of NAR members have a certification. The most common (21 percent) certification is Short Sales and Foreclosures (SFR), followed by e-Pro (11 percent).
--Income differs among those who have a designation and those who do not. Those with at least one designation had a median gross annual income in 2010 of $49,300. Those who did not have a designation had a median gross annual income in 2010 of $26,900.
