ORRA's 2015 officers share a bit about
themselves and their real estate philosophies

President
Sharon Voss
Watson Realty Corp

My goals as an ORRA leader are to raise awareness in the community that in addition to being a resource for buying and selling homes, REALTORS® are also a resource for homeowner association rules and regulations and for community government regulations

The most pressing local real estate issues are lack of inventory and lingering foreclosures

The most important real estate lesson I’ve learned is never assume anything

The most rewarding part of real estate is selling to a first-time homebuyer

The best real estate advice I’ve received is “verbal is nothing”

The best real estate advice I’ve given is always be ethical and always be yourself

My favorite things about Central Florida are new projects such as the Medical City, the Dr. Phillips Performing Arts Center, and the new soccer stadium

If I were not in real estate I would be working with children

President-elect
John Lazenby
Colony Realty Group, Inc.

My goals as ORRA president-elect are to ensure that ORRA leadership listens to and serves the members, and to help the leadership and the members work together

The most pressing REALTOR® issue is being taught to continuously serve the buyers and sellers

The most rewarding part of real estate is being part of the American dream

The best real estate advice I’ve given is to focus on a segment — such as geographic or price range — and become an expert

My real estate role model is Johnny Isakson, past president of Northside Realty in Atlanta and a Georgia senator (the REALTORS’® best friend in the U.S. Senate)

The best way to stay competitive in real estate is to network and to continuously pursue both education and professional designations

I chose a career in real estate because it allows being able to have millions of dollars of inventory at a relatively low cost

If I were not in real estate, I would be a business consultant specializing in start-ups and new-business development

Treasurer

Bruce Elliott
Regal Real Estate Professionals LLC

My goals as ORRA treasurer are to create an easy to use dashboard for members to understand the association’s finances; to refine the reports of the monthly financials; and to help all members maximize the benefits of their membership

The most pressing national real estate issue is third-party collectors and resellers of local real estate information

The most important real estate lesson I’ve learned is that you never know how much your client knows so always be prepared with all the facts

The most challenging part of real estate is educating consumers of the market, inventory, and transactions; and convincing them that you really do hold their best interest first

The best real estate advice I’ve given is nobody is perfect so never stop trying

The best way to stay competitive in real estate is to know what is happening in your market at all times, even if you don’t have any listings

My favorite thing about Central Florida is the weather

My first job was at Target in the electronics department

Secretary

Reese Stewart
RE/Max Properties SW

My goal as an ORRA leader for 2015 is to keep our members’ best interests in mind at all times

The most pressing local real estate issue is maintaining the strength of our current local market conditions

My real estate role model is my mentor and friend Rick Miller

The best way to stay competitive in real estate is to keep seeking education

My favorite real estate website is www.Realtor.org

My favorite real estate apps are way too many to list!

I chose a career in real estate because it was something that intrigued me

Immediate Past Chairman

Zola Szerencses
Keller Williams At The Parks

My goals as an ORRA leader for 2015 are to support the current leadership, to better the association, and to better the membership as a whole

The best real estate advice I’ve received is to put everything in writing

The best real estate advice I’ve given is to get involved in international real estate

The best way to stay competitive in real estate is to keep up to date with technology; statistics; and local, state, and national real estate issues

My favorite real estate apps are those from Seminole County Public Schools and Orange County Public Schools

My favorite sports team is Orlando City Soccer

The greatest challenge I’ve overcome is building a new life in the U.S.

I try to handle difficult situations by determining the worst case scenario and then working on the problem one issue at a time.

If I were not in real estate I would be a professor
