OCPS launches mobile app with "School Finder" for house hunters

County Public Schools has launched a new mobile app whose “School Finder”
function provides the zoned elementary, middle, and high school for your location.

OCPS app is a tool for parents, students, staff and community members to
connect with the district and individual schools on multiple levels. The app
aggregates news, photos, sports and social media communications. It is also a
resource center for school menus, district jobs, staff contacts and calendar
listings, among others.
Functions and Features
Progress Book: Parents and students will be able to view information about
academic work, as posted by teachers. Parents can receive alerts for
user-defined thresholds for low grades or missing assignments.
News: This feature pulls
every news story, including pictures, from a school’s website, Facebook page,
Twitter feed or any other RSS feed. It will group together news from the
district and all schools selected by a user.
The app delivers meal menus for all schools. It also provides calorie counts
and nutritional information for each menu item.
Users can manage their accounts that are used to pay for a variety of school

school or the district.
The calendar displays events listed on the district calendar, district
performing arts calendar and as many school calendars as the user wants. It
also allows the user to add events to their personal device calendar.
Sports: Followers can see
school sports event schedules, results, and more.
A list of all schools with address, website, phone and staff listings. The
staff listings include title and email addresses. Users can send an e-mail
directly from the app.
OCPS app is available from the Apple and Google Play app stores. The app is free and can be
downloaded searching for OCPS.
