ORRA backs Apopka Mayor John Land for re-election
Friday, March 28, 2014
The Orlando Regional REALTOR® Association has selected to support incumbent John Land for re-election as mayor of the City of Apopka. The election will take place on April 8.
“Mayor Land has a long and accomplished record as Apopka’s mayor, in addition to being a strong supporter of real estate issues,” says ORRA Chairman Zola Szerencses, RE/MAX 200 Realty. “For example he has kept Apopka’s property taxes low for the last 10 years, and his administration has worked well with ORRA representatives on those issues that are important to REALTORS® such as sign ordinances. REALTORS® – and all voters – would do well to offer this distinguished public servant the opportunity to serve another term.”
ORRA considers each candidate up for election based on his or her past voting record and/or sensitivity to real estate issues such as private property rights. Candidates are invited to participate in a screening process by the ORRA Candidate Screening Subcommittee, which then makes candidate recommendations to the ORRA Board of Directors for final approval.
ORRA endorsed candidates who accept campaign contributions are provided with $500 toward their campaign from the REALTORS® Political Action Committee.
The Orlando Regional REALTOR® Association represents more than 9,500 real estate professionals throughout Central Florida.
