Students of ORRA's first Advanced Brokerage Management class
Both brand new and experienced brokers alike will uncovered a wealth of information in ORRA's "Advanced Brokerage Management" class, which will next be offered on September 17. The class was a new offering for 2014 and is worth six continuing education credits.
The class was developed specifically for new brokers by a special task force of the ORRA Risk Management Subcommittee.
"Advanced Brokerage Management was a two-year project initiated as a result of participant reviews of ORRA’s broker orientation program," explains task force Chair Dean Vanderpool, Devan Realty and Development Corporation. "Participants clearly loved the orientation class, and it was apparent that they were thirsting for more knowledge and training on brokerage topics. We then set out to help our new brokers by providing even more affordable, expert assistance in setting up their brokerages’ structure correctly right from the start."
Topics covered in the class include:
- Complying with escrow requirements and avoiding FREC violations;
- Increasing agent productivity;
- Hiring and firing strategically;
- Effective marketing;
- Selecting insurance coverage;
- Protecting files and sensitive information; and more!

"I found the Advanced Brokerage Management training presented by Chuck Bonamer to be very timely and beneficial. I've been an independent broker for just over two years now. The training not only covered key topics such as risk management, broker and office policy manual, legal entities, etc., but it also covered technology such as the use of cloud-based computing and optimizing the website and making it appear to a diverse and inclusive customer base. I was pleasantly surprised to learn so much about these key technologies, which are also inexpensive and easy to implement. Mr. Bonamer also has a gift of delivering the content in an entertaining manner.
I highly recommend this training to beginning and experienced broker, and plan to take it myself as a refresher in future years!
