Welcome to 2014! It is my privilege to serve you as your 2014 ORRA chairman of the board. It is also my great honor to follow in the footsteps of ORRA’s most chairman, Steve Merchant, and our other leaders.
I’m certain that by now everyone has drawn up your plans for a productive and results-driven 2014, and has gotten started taking your business to the next level. ORRA’s 2014 leadership team has done the same for your association!
What’s interesting about ORRA’s 2014 strategic plan is that it was created by listening to you, the member. As part of the association’s theme for 2014 — Zoom In, Reach Out — we put a special emphasis on members’ input when plotting out ORRA’s strategic plan. We took into consideration your phone calls, your survey comments, and even your casual conversations.
We came up with a strategic plan that focuses on members’ expressed needs and wants, which overwhelmingly called for promoting awareness of the value and professionalism of REALTORS®. In addition, members voiced a great interest in ORRA’s real estate specialty groups’ education and networking opportunities.
Your suggestions have already gotten the ball rolling. Plans for ORRA’s 2014 consumer awareness media campaign are underway, and standards-of-conduct resources are in development. Of course, you can always turn to the online calendar on ORRA’s website to see what new offerings and opportunities are coming out of the Global Real Estate Council of Orlando, the Orlando Regional Commercial Council, and the Orlando Young Professionals Network.
The success of ORRA’s strategic plan objectives rely not only on the association’s leadership and committees to set the course and on staff to implement the project — success relies on you! Help the specialty groups grow by attending events. Reinforce the messages of the public awareness campaign by acting in accordance to the REALTOR® Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice. It’s your chance to help yourself (and all of us as a group) to be viewed as respected and professional.
Do you want to be a real estate professional who is a trusted advisor in a real estate transaction? If your answer is yes, then stay tuned and together we shall make that happen in 2014.
