Learn to protect yourself with
self-defense techniques and tactics
This interactive, hands-on self-defense class will have you off your feet and actively participating in escapes from grabbing attacks, striking attacks, and weapons attacks and teach you other defensive
tactics. The instructor will also cover defensive
driving, legal aspects of self-defense, crime
prevention, weapons use, and much more.
The Martial Arts instructor will cover:
- Verbal and physical de-escalation methods
- Ground fighting
- Pressure points
- Weapons Disarming
- Lethal and non-lethal weapons use for an attack
- Crime prevention (burglaries, stalkers, internet safety, etc.)
Stephen Nordlinger Mr. Nordlinger is a martial arts instructor and has been a Police Defensive Tactics Instructor since 1990. He was a U.S. Marine Corp Martial Arts instructor (1985-1989) and a Certified Mental Health CPI/TEAM Trainer (1990-2007). Stephen is the founder and teacher of the University of Central Florida's Escape (Women's Self-Defense) Program and currently teaches this class as part of the University of Central Florida nursing program. He is the author of the book "The Self-Defense Against Dog Attack Encyclopedia" and a co-author of the book "Yoga Self-Defense."
