Florida Licensing Requirements for Real Estate

 Real Estate Sales Associate
To become a real estate sales associate, you must successfully complete a 63-hour course approved by the Florida Real Estate Commission, submit the appropriate application with fee ($105), have electronic fingerprints taken through Promissor ($56.25 fee paid to the vendor); and successfully complete the state examination. Your license is valid for two years.

Real Estate Broker
To become a real estate broker, you must successfully complete a 72-hour course approved by the Florida Real Estate Commission, submit the appropriate application with fee ($115), have electronic fingerprints taken through Promissor ($56.25 fee paid to the vendor); and successfully complete the state examination.

License Renewal Requirements

Before your first renewal, post-license education must be completed on or before the expiration date of the license. Sales associates must complete 45 hours of post license education. Brokers are required to complete 60-hours of post licensure education.

After your first renewal, your license may be renewed every 2 years by completing 14 hours of continuing education of which 3 hours must be Core Law.
